Hiawatha Law, PLLC

About Our Firm
Rooted deep in the rugged beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Lillian "Lil" E. Harmon brings a strong sense of place, tradition, and dedication to her legal practice. As the founder and owner of Hiawatha Law, PLLC, Lil is proud to serve the people, businesses, and communities of the U.P. Her connection to the region spans generations, tracing back to early ancestors who settled on Grand Island and the Munising area during the early 1800s.
Lil grew up in Newberry and graduated from Newberry High School in 2014. Shortly after, she attended Northern Michigan University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Studies in 2018. She earned her Juris Doctorate from University of Toledo College of Law in May 2022, becoming licensed to practice law in Michigan later that fall.
As an attorney, Lil offers a distinct perspective on the law. She believes fiercely in safeguarding the Upper Peninsula's natural resources and its people, while defending the heritage, outdoor traditions, and rights that define the Yooper way of life. She understands the climbing costs of living, the inaccessibility of the legal system, and the lack of resources in our area. Her legal practice is built on a foundation of holistic advocacy, local accountability, affordability, and down-to-earth common sense.
When she isn't in the courtroom or working with clients, Lil lives out those same values on her homestead in Kiva. Settled in the heart of the U.P., she shares her farm with her significant other, their two rescue dogs, a flock of chickens, and a few feeder pigs. An outdoor enthusiast and lifelong learner, Lil is an avid runner, equestrian, writer, gardener, and reader who treasures time spent with her loving family and friends.
